Year 3 and 4 Birch Class
Welcome to Year 3/4 Birch Class
My name is Miss Johal and I will be working with Ms Kamanda and your children this year. I look forward to working with you and have outlined below some essential information to support your child at school.
This term Birch have been practicing their weekly spellings, times tables and writing in different styles about our class text this term - The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. Also, the children have created some lovely posters about peace, our school value. Homework books (old Creative Curriculum books) will be given out every Thursday and are expected back on Wednesday. Home learning is not optional.
Children are expected to read everyday. They can read comic books, newspapers, graphic novels - whatever they enjoy. This will improve their vocabulary when completing their own pieces of work. The children will receive their reading records this week. Reading records must be brought in everyday.
This term in PE Birch have been practicing and improving their control, dribbling and passing skills in football. The children have worked individually and in groups as we have been working on teamwork and communication skills. In addition to this, Birch have been attending weekly swimming lessons every Monday; it has been lovely to see their confidence in the water grow in just a few weeks. PE kit is required every Wednesday.
If you have any questions or require further information about our autumn term, please do not hesitate to speak or contact me.
