EYFS - Elm Class

Welcome to EYFS

Dear Parent/Carers,

My name is Ms Williamson and I will be your child’s class teacher this year and working alongside me is Ms Valerie, my Teaching Assistant.

We’re looking forward to working with you and outline below some essential information to support your child at school.

Students will always have access to the outdoor area, during free flow activities and this will provide physical activity a part of everyday learning. Children are encouraged to learn through playing and exploring and be involved in their active learning, within their environment.  In addition to this your child will participate in weekly team games and throwing activities and learn about healthy eating, moving safely and why warming up and cool downs are important.

Home Reading

Children will be exposed to high quality picture books in class and this will reflect the books that are sent home to support your child’s reading and love of books.  In addition to this, children will also bring home books which will help them to read independently through our new reading scheme -Optima. Children will be given books to support their phonic knowledge and awareness by putting sounds together to make words and to break down a word into sounds.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.

Yours sincerely,

Ms Williamson
