Chair of Governors, Ken Hayes
I came to live in Southwark in 1984 and joined St George the Martyr church in Borough High Street. I married my wife Trudy in 1986 and we have three sons who all attended the parish school, St Jude's. My sons then went to the London Nautical school and went on to to study at Cambridge, St Andrews and Durham universities respectively.
I have been a Foundation governor of St Jude's since 1993 and have recently become the Chair of Governors in September 2017. I am very proud to be involved with this wonderful primary school.
Governors are volunteers who represent the interests of the whole community of St Jude's. We support and challenge the school as it develops, so that it can provide the best possible education and environment for all our children.
The full governing body meets at least once per term and smaller sub committees meet more frequently to discuss topics such as pupil progress, the curriculum, staffing, health and safety and the upkeep of the building.
If anyone is interested in becoming a school governor, please enquire at the school.
